Course Final Project

Project Assessment
The COM1005: Visual Composition final course project is a summative task that will assess skills and knowledge developed throughout each training room that you have completed. A suggested weighting of 50% is recommended for this project. Because there are a wide variety of approaches that you can choose to demonstrate your learning, the rubric provided in the Toolkit is only a suggested rubric. You should consult with your teacher as to how he or she will evaluate this final course project.

Connections
From working through Training Room 1, you learned about the various elements of design that an artist, designer or photographer uses to help convey a message to an audience through a visual composition. These elements comprised the ‘building blocks’ of the visual message. In Training Room 2, you learned about the various principles of design that an artist, designer or photographer uses. These principles help to guide you in assembling the various elements in your composition. Finally in Training Room 3, you explored how adding text to a visual display can influence the viewer’s perception of the visual message. Altogether, you will draw on all your learning to successfully complete the final project for this course.
