Digital Citizenship – Copyright
For this training room project, you will be required to use multiple images to create your presentation. Many of these images can be found on the web. Can you just take a picture from the internet and use it in a poster, report, presentation?
Surprisingly, the answer is NO!
As a digital citizen in the 21st century, you need to be familiar with copyright laws and to practice appropriate behaviour. Copyright laws are intended to protect an individual’s intellectual property.
Guided search
Research what are common copyright laws. Enter the search term “internet copyright laws” or “internet copyright laws Canada” in your computer’s search engine. A highly recommended read is http://mediasmarts.ca/intellectual-property
